The Business
Foster and Partners (www.fosterandpartners.com) is an international studio for architecture, planning and design led by Norman Foster. The London-based 300-architect practice has been responsible for design of world-class landmark buildings including the German Parliament in the Reichstag, Berlin, and the Great Court at the British Museum.

The Challenge
Rapid expansion of the internal team of architects from 100 to 300 in five years, meant that it was becomingly more difficult to manage individuals and teams. The practice needed to be able to identify which individuals were fully utilised on project work and be able to ‘forward plan’ staffing for upcoming projects.

The Solution
Asta Powerproject was integrated with Foster and Partner’s proprietary timesheet system. Progress recorded in the timesheet system is automatically extracted and updated in the main project plan in Asta Powerproject.

Results
Through histogram reporting in Asta Powerproject, managers can easily identify which individuals are fully utilised on current projects, as well as future resource requirements. Workload across teams is well managed, resulting in enhanced fee-earning revenues.
