The
Business
Mace (www.mace.co.uk) is a professional management
company, which works predominantly in the property and construction
sector. Its business is the management of the development,
design and construction process from project inception to
post completion aftercare.
The Challenge
Mace took over responsibility
for construction of the London Eye, a major Millennium
project, with just 14 months left to the deadline. The
project team needed a system to help co-ordinate seven
contractors around the world and ensure successful project
delivery prior to 31 December, 1999.
The
Solution
Mace chose Asta Powerproject to help manage the project.
Trade contractors were also encouraged to use the system for day-to-day
planning as sections of the project could be booked out for
them to work on.

Results
The London Eye was completed on schedule. Asta
Powerproject proved vital for managing the many different processes and
contractors within the tight deadlines. The team used the
powerful rescheduling capabilities within Asta Powerproject
to keep the project on track despite a last minute problem
with the uplift of the wheel to its final vertical position.
