Asta Powerproject is used to help move an airport in South Africa

Focus Project Management, one of South Africa’s leading project management companies, has used Asta Powerproject, construction project management software from Asta Development, to help project manage the relocation of an entire international airport.

The project was the relocation of Durban International Airport to a site 50km away, known as King Shaka International Airport. Durban International Airport was due to cease flying on April 30th 2010 and the new King Shaka International Airport had to be ready to operate on May 1st 2010. The ‘Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer Programme’ was the final project in a 25-project-strong programme and Focus Project Management had just 22 days to complete this task.

“Asta Powerproject was central to the smooth running of the entire relocation and the successful completion of the project within an exceptionally tight timescale.” – Russell Chappe, Director, Focus Project Management
