This feature allows you to monitor the project and keep an
accurate As-Built record of the work undertaken. The As-Built
record has, by definition, straight progress lines and all forecast
work is in the future. |

4 minutes |
|
| If you need to move a link end from one task to another, you can
drag either link end graphically, rather than deleting the original
link and creating a new one. This is particularly useful if the
linked tasks are not close together as it saves both time and
effort. |
 |
| |
39 seconds |
|
| You can now create and edit links in the spreadsheet, which is
particularly useful for larger projects where linked tasks are
widely spaced and it is difficult to see the whole link.
If a column displays predecessor or successor link details, click
in a cell to create new links or change the link type, lead/lag
amounts or even the task at the other end of existing links. |
 |
| |
48 seconds |
|
| You can use the Links tab of the Task Properties dialog to
navigate through the logic of the plan.
When you double-click on a link the task at the other end of the
link (predecessor or successor) is centred in the bar chart
window. This new task is now the subject of the Task Properties
dialog and its links are displayed on the Links tab. |
 |

|
| By locking a progress period, you can prevent further editing on
the bar chart of all tasks with progress recorded against that
particular period. The start, finish and duration also cannot be
edited if the progress period is locked.
This protects against accidental editing of progressed activities
and ensures that project records are always accurate, which is
particularly useful for forensic analysis. |
 |
| |
24 seconds |
|
| There may be times when you want to hide sensitive
information before printing off a project report and you can
omit this information by filtering it out. However, with the new
hide bars and/or tasks feature, you can now hide particular
tasks or rows in the project quickly before printing or while
working. |
 |
| |
41 seconds |
|
| The border file around an Asta Powerproject printout enables you
to display useful information both clearly and professionally. In
Asta Powerproject version 10 you can save a copy of your border
in the project file, including any graphics or logos that you use.
This allows you to include your chosen border in the Asta
Powerproject file so that, when you email it to someone else,
they can create an output with the border already attached. |
 |
| |
42 seconds |
|
| Sometimes it is necessary to include quite a long description
against an activity. In Asta Powerproject version 10 you can
choose to allow the height of the spreadsheet rows to
automatically adjust to accommodate all of the task title. This
then enables you to include as much descriptive information as
you need. The bar and tasks on the line remain the same size
and are centred vertically in the line, ensuring consistent visual
presentation. |
 |
| |
45 seconds |
|
| The spreadsheet cell font and colour, as well as the
background colour for that row on the bar chart, can now be
set for a Summary/Expanded task in the Project View. This
allows the levels of the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) to
be identified in a view, to be consistent across views, and only
need to be set once. |
 |
| |
1min 25secs |
|
| You may want to copy information from one spreadsheet cell
to a number of others. In version 10 you can copy one cell
to many by highlighting the whole area that you want the
information to go in and then selecting paste. The
information will be copied into all cells that can receive the
information – if a cell is not editable (e.g. sub-heading,
summary information) the paste will simply be skipped –
saving time and effort. |
