Asta Project Analyser is a complementary tool for Asta Powerproject.

Asta Project Analyser takes two project plans and compares them in forensic detail.
Various reports are available to list the differences and to help you find that needle in a haystack.

Asta Project Analyser will save you literally dozens of man-hours of effort trying to track down the cause of effects in your project plans.

The situations where Asta Project Analyser can be applied are:

A dispute between two parties where each has a version of the plan (maybe originating from two completely different sources) and wants to see what has been done to a project and how it differs from another.

This is often the case in a contractual dispute before adjudication, during adjudication and by expert witnesses before and during a court hearing.
Even relatively simple project plans can quickly get complicated as you cope with adapting the plan to meet the changing circumstances of the project.

Compare and understand where you are now against where you started from.
Compare an adapted project with its baseline to see why variances are occurring.
You inherit a project plan from someone who has been re-assigned or left the company.
Understanding how things have changed over time and where changes have been made is important to quickly mastering the project plan.

Asta Project Analyser is a standalone application which can analyse local project plans and project plans produced by Asta Powerproject Enterprise.

Two projects are selected to compare – the base project and the revised project.
The tasks in each project to compare are selected by matching Identifier numbers.
The internal ID can be used – this would be useful to compare a project and it’s baseline, or between two projects where one has been ‘Saved-As’ from another.
There are two identifiers that can be edited – Unique Task ID and Work Breakdown Numbering – and so you can have two projects from different sources and by setting these identifiers to be the same can compare one project with another.
The scope of how much of the project is analysed can be set.
